About CCD
The CCD religious education program at the parish of St. Joseph’s in Tiffin, Ohio, is a cornerstone of the Church Universal's ministry. This program supports parents in nurturing a faith and love relationship with Jesus Christ in their children, aiming for the formation of faithful Christians. It emphasizes not only teaching the history and doctrines of the Catholic Church but also guiding students to live a Christ-centered life.
Program Goals:
Assist parents in fostering their children's faith.
Teach Christ’s message through the Church’s history and doctrines.
Encourage a way of life centered around Christian values.
Develop well-informed consciences and commitment to the faith community.
Sacrament Preparation
Students planning to receive the sacraments of Penance, First Eucharist, and Confirmation must complete required instruction periods. This ensures they are well-prepared and have a thorough understanding of the significance and responsibilities of these sacraments. At St. Joseph’s, we are committed to guiding each student through their spiritual journey, helping them grow in faith and become active members of their faith community.
We all know that children need continuing religious guidance. Students planning to receive the sacraments of Penance, also known as Reconciliation or Confession, and First Eucharist, also known as First Communion, are required to attend two years of instruction.
If you have any questions about the religious education program, please contact Mary Claire Griffin, CCD & Sacramental Coordinator.
